1.How to check for registered letters and parcel mail?

Please visit the “Mail and Parcel Management System” within the Academic Affairs Administration System for inquiries.

2.Where can students collect registered letters and parcel mail?

For off-campus students, please collect during office hours at the General Affairs Office, Document Section, on the Second Campus.
For on-campus residents, please collect at the Dormitory Manager’s office on the Second Campus.

3.Regarding the prevention and control of black mosquitoes on campus:

Black mosquitoes, known for causing disturbances, are prevalent in various Taiwanese regions, including Hualien. The university adopts a three-pronged approach:

(1)Chemical Control: Regular disinfection and intensified efforts during high mosquito density periods.
(2)Environmental Management: Trimming trees, planting dense grass to reduce breeding environments, and regular cleaning of moss.
(3)Personal Protection: Recommends wearing long-sleeved clothes, long pants, or using mosquito repellent, with details available in university announcements.
For more information, visit the “Black Mosquito Information Service Center” website. Let’s collaborate for a healthy and clean campus!

4.To address concerns about inadequate nighttime lighting on campus:

(1)Safety Corridors: Outdoor pathways between teaching and dormitory areas are designated as “safety corridors,” with enhanced lighting for nighttime safety.
(2)Lighting Improvements: Ongoing efforts include upgrading streetlights to brighter LED fixtures. Motion sensor lights are installed in certain areas for added safety.
(3)Safe Pathways: Students are encouraged to use planned safety corridors for nighttime walks. Emergency call buttons are available for immediate assistance.
(4)Regular Assessments: Annual site inspections are conducted, and adjustments are made based on on-site needs and student feedback.
(5)Reporting Malfunctions: Students can report lighting issues in teaching areas to the security office. Dormitory lighting problems can be reported to dormitory managers.
(6)Feedback: Students with specific suggestions for improving other campus lighting areas are welcome to provide feedback to the Student Affairs or General Affairs Office.

5.Addressing stray dogs on campus and their hygiene and safety:

(1)Due to the vast campus with multiple entrances, it’s challenging to prevent stray dogs from entering.
(2)The university doesn’t adopt or assist in microchipping dogs, making them not designated as “campus dogs.”
(3)The “Life Care Society” student group monitors and cares for stray dogs, providing health care and facilitating adoption.
(4)While campus stray dogs are generally gentle and vaccinated, non-club students are advised not to feed or approach them to avoid potential issues.
(5)Report any aggressive or health-concerned stray dogs to the “Life Care Society,” Student Affairs Office, or General Affairs Office for assistanc
